Changing Vietnam

Sometimes, i find it really hard to take complaints about my country-Vietnam, however, that fact cannot be denied: Vietnam is not as nice as what tourists usually comment online.

Vietnam is a developing country with few adult speaks English, intergration and globalization are not widely introduced. As a Vietnammese girl, it sometimes comes across my mind that i want to change my hometown, my country… Is it really possible?
Over 1 thousand years being colonized by the Chinese, 1 hundred years being occupied the French and 10 years being controlled by the American, Vietnam has just been renewed and taken its path to a new world, while other countries have thounsands of years of histories and traditions. Who knows how difficult it was to make this country a peaceful, developed place?
Some tourists say that Vietnammese people is not very friendly and polite. In my opinion, it’s not totally true. The Vietnammese has its own traditions, unlike American, Japanese, Chinese,… they are not very open-minded of thinking about something sort of hug, kiss and expressing feelings. That’s why tourists find it hard to get used to traveling in Vietnam, and usually think: “I am not welcomed here!”.
It cannot be denied that tricks is Vietnam are terrifying: overcharge, being taken money by bad guys… Tourists always take concern about this problem, even the Vietnammese. Tricks can happen everywhere, everytime, which explains why the Vietnammese talk to strangers less, and keep quiet, and sometimes, pay no attention to what strangers are saying. Do you think it is unfriendly?
Vietnam, as i experience many places, is significantly beautiful. Peaceful beach, white sand, huge mountains, specific and ample traditions,… attract many people.

However, transportation is not comprehensively developed. Bus services, taxis, cars, motorcycles are in a poor condition.

Changing something is not easy, and of course, i know that. Changing myself is hard, so it’s not a very surprise that changing my country is very very very very hard. Owing to that reason, i would rather to change myself to change others, but nothing can make me stop thinking of changing Vietnam into a friendly and developed country.
Change ourselves, change Vietnam to make a better Vietnam!
